Chaos

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
For other uses, see Chaos (disambiguation).

Chaos (play /ˈk.ɒs/;[1] Greek: χάος ) in Greek mythology and cosmology referred to a gap or abyss at the beginning of the world, or more generally the initial, formless state of the universe[2] (the antithetical, or possibly complementary, concept was cosmos).

Later uses of the term by philosophers varied over time. In modern English, the word is used in classical studies with the original meaning; in mathematics and science to refer to a very specific kind of unpredictability; and informally to mean a state of confusion.[3] In philosophy, and in popular culture, the word can occur with all three meanings.

This is a maze of a deer caught in the headlights. The perpendicular lines that create the illusion of the deer are processed differently in the brain than a regular shape and you may find yourself thinking about this maze several times later on in the day. This is the mind attempting to process information that is common, but in a different way.

Obama: Economy Headed in Right Direction

President Barack Obama says the latest employment figures show the U.S. economy is headed in the right direction, but more needs to be done to put Americans without jobs back to work.

The U.S. economy lost 125,000 non-farm sector jobs during the month of June.  That figure reflects the end of some 225,000 temporary U.S. census worker jobs.

The Labor Department reported a decline in the overall unemployment rate which dropped to 9.5 percent from 9.7 percent, the lowest level since 2009.

While the private sector gained 83,000 jobs, the figure was below levels from the previous two months.

President Obama recognized the mixed nature of the latest figures.  He said they show the economy is headed in the right direction…(Read More)

Shit My Dad Says Twitter Account Inspires New TV Sitcom Starring William Shatner

Little did Justin Halpern know that his funny  “Shit My Dad Says” Twitter postings would lead to a book deal and television show. Well, it did, and it’s being picked up by CBS later this year, less than a year after securing a book deal.

Shit My Dad Says will star William Shatner as the father with a penchant for saying some really funny and weird stuff, like “We didn’t accidentally kill a hooker, we had dinner!”

Halpern started the Twitter account to showcase the things his father would say to him, and the experiences they shared while living together in the same house.
